Sunday Wine Class - the Judgement of Paris
October 18 2026 | 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM24 Harrison St, New York, NY 10013
The Judgement of Paris…the most important wine tasting…ever!
1976 was a landmark year for American wines,
when a British wine merchant staged a blind tasting
of Californian & French wines…AND AMERICA WON!!!
Despite an initial attempt by the French judges to retract their scores,
and a subsequent conspiracy of silence by the French press,
the story was shared far and wide (in TIME Magazine)
and helped re-launch the American wine industry, post-Prohibition.
This tasting became known as The Judgement of Paris.
We will honor our country’s present wine successes
with a re-imagining of this grand event.
The specifics of the event:
-it will be a seated gathering, at communal tables
-6 wines will be enjoyed during the class (served blind) + a welcome wine
-there will be a snack, because we want your bellies to be happy
-there will be instruction and conversation...this is a class after all...
lasting roughly 60 minutes...
-there will not be a test at the finish of the class
We very much look forward to celebrating
the massive American wine event
that is The Judgement of Paris with you.
