Sunday Wine Class - Jura
September 20 2026 | 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM24 Harrison St, New York, NY 10013
Jura…give up the funk (and tear the roof off the sucker!)…just saying
The Jura: a magical land of rolling hills, alpine cheeses, poignant grape varietals,
and the Big King Daddy of Oxidative Wines: Vin Jaune.
The Jura was once ruled by the Dukes of Burgundy.
Their wines were served at the tables of French kings and were illegally imitated by fraudsters.
Jura winemakers probably invented the tax strike against the national government of France.
Today, Jura wines are some of the most exciting of the world, despite comprising only a tiny quantity of French production.
The specifics of the event:
-it will be a seated gathering, at communal tables
-6 wines will be enjoyed during the class + a welcome wine
-there will be a snack, because we want your bellies to be happy
-there will be instruction and conversation...this is a class after all...
lasting roughly 60 minutes...
-there will not be a test at the finish of the class
We very much look forward to celebrating
the almighty Jura region with you.
